CHARLEINE B.

Charleine Boieiro (Paris, 1986) is a visual artist and tattooist. She has worked in the creative industries since graduating from the Edinburgh College of Art in 2008. She works and resides in Lisbon, where she founded and runs Françoise Tattoo Parlour since 2015. Charleine co-founded and ran the art gallery Adamastor Studios (2012-2015) in Lisbon, where she curated monthly shows featuring international artists.

Alongside her tattoo pratice, she is an associate artist at L’Apparition Graphics where she develops mural painting projects with fellow artist Sandra de Matos since 2012. Together, they also run and program Cineclube Aparição, a film club with monthly cycles, which started in 2019 in Anjos70.

In 2017, Françoise Tattoo Parlour created the annual alternative tattoo festival Unconvention Lisboa, in partnership with Catarina Querido, for which she is the main curator and co-ordinator.
